Sale of oximeters at higher rates: Medical shops raided, cases registered

Mysore/Mysuru: Following complaints that oximeters, which are not in accordance with the rule were being sold at exorbitant rates at medical shops in city, a team of officials from the Legal Metrology Department conducted raids on various medical stores in city recently.

Legal Metrology Department officials K.M. Mahadevaswamy and Sumarani conducted raids and have registered seven cases against medical shop owners besides imposing a total of Rs. 20,000 on them.

The officials have asked the public to call Ph: 0821-2479107 or 2479455, if they find medical stores charging more that the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) and also if the oximeter does not have the manufacturer’s address and regular declarations is not mentioned.
