‘Samskruthika Kala Prathibhotsava’

Music Varsity to host cultural contest, festival on Mar. 4,  5

Mysore/Mysuru: Commemorating Padma Vibhushan Dr. Gangubai Hangal’s 108th birth anniversary, KSGH Music and Performing Arts University has organised a two-day Inter-Department and College-level Cultural Competitions and Festival titled ‘Samskruthika Kala Prathibhotsava’ on Mar. 4 and 5 at the University Campus on JLB Road here.

The event aims to give a platform for the artistic unveiling of students talent in performing arts. Registration fee is  Rs. 250 for team and Rs. 150      for solo events.

Events are as follows:

Mar. 4 — Stage-1: Hindustani Classical – Vocal Solo (15 mins), Karnatak Classical – Vocal Solo (15 mins), Instrumental Solo – Percussion (15 mins), Instrumental Solo – Non-Percussion (15 mins) and Light Vocal Solo (6 mins); Stage-2: Classical Dance Solo (5 mins); Stage-3: Mimicry Solo (5 mins) and Mono Acting Solo (5 mins).

Mar. 5 — Stage-1: Patriotic Songs + Folk Songs – Group (6 mins); Stage-2: Folk Dance – Group (10 mins) and Classical Dance – Group (6 mins); Stage-3: Skit Group (5 mins).

Mar. 6 — Stage-3: Mime Group (15 mins).
