Mysuru: DC D. Randeep has asked the officials to bring to the notice of the District Administration if the Backward Classes and SC/ST Welfare Department was finding any difficulty in getting sites for Samudaya Bhavans (Community Halls). Speaking at a Progress Review Meeting of Samudaya Bhavan works at his office here yesterday, Randeep expressed disappointment over the difficulty in getting sites at places where Samudaya Bhavans have been sanctioned.
The DC directed the officials to take immediate action for preparing estimates and expediting works on the construction of Samudaya Bhavans.
Taking Nirmiti Kendra Officials to task for failing to release funds for the construction of Samudaya Bhavans, he said that officials should ensure steady progress of works so that construction is completed on time.
Backward Classes Welfare Officer Somashekar Jigani said that 249 Samudaya Bhavans have been sanctioned for the district since 2013, out of which 37 have been completed, while 130 are under construction, 47 have no sites and 20 others have no records. SC/ST Welfare Officer Shivakumar said that 134 Samudaya Bhavans have been sanctioned, out of which 21 have no sites, while estimates are yet to be prepared for some others.
