Mysuru: A five-day Children’s Theatre Festival, organised by Sanchalana, Mysuru, will commence on Jan. 6 at the Mini Theatre in Kalamandira premises here.
The Fest will feature plays by children every day at 6 pm.
The inaugural function on Jan. 6 at 6 pm will have senior theatre activist H.K. Ramanath, MCDCC Bank President G.D. Harish Gowda, Women and Child Development Director K.A. Dayanand, Kannada and Culture Director S. Rangappa, Public Instructions Dy. Director Dr. Panduranga, Drama Juniors Director T. Sharanaiah and Bhagavan Sri Satya Sai Baba Mahila mattu Makkala Koota Trust Mysuru Chairman K.B. Prabhuprasad as guests. Entry to the Fest is free.
The Fest has been organised in association with Kannada and Culture Department, Mysuru and Karnataka Balavikasa Academy, Dharwad.
The line up of plays is as follows:
Jan. 6: ‘Bommanahalliya Kindarijogi’ by students of Sri Satya Saibaba School.
Jan. 7: ‘Hidimbana Tota’ by students of Udayaravi Trust, K.R. Pet.
Jan. 8: ‘Kuni Kuni Navile’ by students of Adamya Ranga Shale.
Jan. 9: ‘Sri Krishna Garudi’ by students of weekend theatre school Atmiya Ranga Prayogalaya Trust, Chamarajanagar, followed by ‘Govina Hadu’ by students of Aayama Academy of Fine Arts.
Jan. 10: ‘Anche Mane’ by students of Arivu School.
