Sanctity of Tirupati laddu protected: TTD Trust allays fears of devotees

Vijayawada: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust has clarified that, the sanctity of the sacred sweet laddu prasada has been protected, in the wake of the prevailing fears in the mind of the devotees over using animal fat and substandard quality ghee to prepare the sweet, distributed in the popular Tirupati Venkataramana Swamy Temple.

In a social media post yesterday, TTD Trust that manages the affairs of the Temple has clarified that, the divinity and purity of Srivari laddu is without any blemishes. The TTD Trust is committed to uphold the sanctity to the convenience of all the devotees.

The controversy over the quality of laddu emerged, after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that, the animal fat and adulterated ghee has been found in the laddu prasada, the samples of which were tested in a laboratory.

This triggered a nationwide sensation and Naidu had blamed the previous YSR Congress Government for the issue.

Former Chief Minister of YSR Congress Government Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy had called it as ‘Diversion Politics’ and a cooked-up story.

The Central Government has asked for a report from Andhra Pradesh Government in this regard, assuring to take action upon the receipt of the report.
