Mysuru: The 233rd annual Sandal Urus Shariff celebrations of Hazarath Tipu Sultan Shaheed will be held at Meelad Bagh on Ashoka Road in Lashkar Mohalla at 11.30 am on May 27, according to Tipu Sultan Welfare and Urus Committee Secretary Afroz Pasha.
The celebrations will be held under the guidance of Sir Qazi of Mysuru Hazarath Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff and under the Chairmanship of MLA Tanveer Sait. DCC Minority Department Spokesperson Mirza Jamsheed Baig will be the anchor of the programme.
MLA K. Harishgowda, Historian Prof. P.V. Nanjaraj Urs, KPCC Spokesperson M. Lakshmana, journalist C. Gururaj, High Court Advocate and President of Tipu Sultan Welfare & Urus Committee M.S. Mukhram and others will be present as chief guests.
Hazarath Khwaja Burhan Ali Sha Chishti, Hazarath Khwaja Azeem Ali Sha Chishti, Hazarath Sufi Wali Ba, Dr.Sufi Arif Hussain Warsi, Syed Rehamathulla, Mirza Jamsheed Baig Ashrafi, Iqbal Pasha, Syed Haneef, Mohd Khaleel-ur-Rehaman, Mohammed Khwaja Musheer Chishti and others are the guests of honour.
After Fatha Khani, Sandal procession accompanied by Fukras, Darvesh, Sufizum and Duff will begin and pass via Ashoka Road, St. Philomena’s Church Circle and Fountain Circle to reach Bada Makan near Tipu Circle to join the Tipu Estate Wakf Sandal procession.
