SC order on promotion reservation policy: Over 8,000 from district to participate in rally in Bengaluru on Oct.31

Mysuru: Over 8,000 people from the district would participate in the protest rally to be held on Oct. 31 in Bengaluru urging the Government to implement the judgement made by the Supreme Court regarding promotion reservation policy.

Disclosing this at a press meet held at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, Dr. K.N. Chandrashekar, Hon. President, Ahimsa Vedike, Mysuru wing, said that the rally would commence from Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Oct. 31 at 10 am and culminate at the Palace Ground.

He further said that over 1.5 lakh people from all over the State would participate in the rally.

Continuing, Chandrashekar recalled that the supreme Court had passed the judgement on Feb. 2, 2017. He opposed the move of the State Government to take up the issue in the coming Winter Session of Legislature and urged the Govt. to implement SC order immediately. He said that the interests of SC/ST should be protected in reservation policy but not beyond the stipulated 18%.

Arya Ediga Employees Association Gen. Secretary V. Jayanna, Rani Chennamma Self Help Group Gen. Secretary Vasantha and Vedika District President M.K. Nanjaiah were present.
