Mysuru: Seshadripuram Independent PU College (SIPUC) and Seshadripuram Degree College (SDC), Mysuru, had organised the 7th Seshadripuram Educational Trust (SET) Merit Scholarship programme at the College Seminar Hall recently to acknowledge and applaud the achievements of the students who had excelled in SSLC and PUC.
Customary lighting of the lamp by University of Mysore Visiting Professor Prof. C. Naganna, SET Hon. General Secretary Nadoja Dr. Wooday P. Krishna, Treasurer B.M. Parthasarathy, Trustees K. Krishnaswamy, B.C. Lokanath, W.D. Ashok, B.A. Ananthram and M.L. Ravishankar, marked the inauguration.
The programme commenced with welcoming the gathering by SDC Principal Prof. K. Sowmya Erappa. The proceedings began with the much-awaited felicitation of meritorious students who had secured distinctions and centum marks in their SSLC and PUC examinations. Distinction holders were awarded a scholarship of Rs. 10,000 each and students who had scored more than 95% in the Board exams availed the benefit of free admission to I PUC and I year degree. Besides, they were honoured with certificates of excellence.
This was followed by a talk by Prof. Naganna. Congratulating all the awardees and teachers, he gave the students valuable tips for sustaining their present success in the future. Furthermore, he encouraged them to develop their unique identity, confidence and serve humanity.
He highlighted the pivotal role played by the teachers in shaping their wards’ success. He finally advised the students not to waste time or opportunity and instead work towards bringing honour and pride to society.
Dr. Wooday P. Krishna, who presided, asked the students to embrace success in their future ventures too with sincere commitment and perseverance. The event culminated with vote of thanks by Seshadripuram Independent PU College Principal N. Archana Swamy. Academic and non-academic staff and students of both SIPUC and SDC were present.
