Science lecturers to boycott evaluation work at Bengaluru

Mysore/Mysuru: Citing lack of boarding and lodging facilities for lecturers from other districts at the State capital Bengaluru, where evaluation of Science stream papers will commence from tomorrow (June 5), Science lecturers have decided to boycott evaluation work.

Speaking to ‘Star of Mysore’ this morning, Karnataka State PU College Lecturers Association, Mysuru District President Yogananda said that most Science lecturers from outside districts, who attended answer paper Coding and Decoding work yesterday and today (June 3 and 4) are facing a lot of hardship at Bengaluru as there is no adequate boarding, lodging and transport facilities due to COVID-19 lockdown. But still the Government is pressurising them to attend work, which is unfair and as such most of the Science lecturers from outside Bengaluru district have decided to boycott evaluation work unless proper arrangements are made for their stay during the evaluation period, especially at a time when their health and safety are at risk due to outbreak of Coronavirus, he said.

Urging the Government to conduct  Science stream subjects answer paper evaluation at the Divisional-level  considering the health and safety of Lecturers, as has been done in the case of Arts and Commerce streams, Yogananda, however clarified that the  ongoing Mysuru Divisional evaluation of Arts and Commerce stream papers will continue  in the city without any interruption.
