Questions veteran writer Dr. C.P. Krishna Kumar

Mysuru:  “Just like mass wedding happening these days, scores of books are being released everyday in Mysuru, but the most important question is who will buy and read them?,” asked veteran writer Dr. C.P. Krishna Kumar (CPK).

He was speaking on the occasion of releasing four books of Poet Krishna Tippur — ‘Chandramana Gudige’, ‘Kadanchina Mane’, ‘Mysurininda Vaishno Deviyatta’ and ‘Savira Padagala Ondu Saalu’ — at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises on Mar.31. The book release programme was organised by District Unit of Kannada Sahitya Parishat in association with K.R. Nagar Mitrakuta, Tippur.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. CPK said: “readers would like Krishna’s poetry and travelogues.  Similar to Vivekananda who went to America and mesmerised them, poet Krishna has travelled to Vaishno Devi from Mysuru and has come out with a good travelogue. The book should have been titled ‘Chamundiyinda Vaishno Deviyavarege’.”

“Only Rashtrakavi Kuvempu and PuTiNa have written poems about science. The way they used to bind emotive relations with science in their poetry used to attract readers and critics alike. Similarly, in Krishna Tippur’s ‘Chandramana Gudige’, ‘Kadanchina Mane’, ‘Savira Padagala Ondu Saalu’ poems, he has chosen objective elements as the subject for his poetry, he described.

Speaking on the book, Dr. Kabbinale Vasanth Bharadwaj, senior writer, said that in ‘Chandramana Gudige,’ poet has added science to the emotive world which is a great thinking. ‘Chandramana Gudige’ has 62 poems, ‘Kadanchina Mane’ has 67, ‘Savira Padagala Ondu Saalu’ has 46. In total, he has written 175 poems. Each poem will give different meaning and so readers should buy and read these books, he opined.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat Mysuru President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna presided. Former KPSC Member Dr. B.S. Krishna Prasad, Publisher Dr. Ankanahalli Partha, Poet Krishna Tippur, Parishat Office-bearers Dr. Jayappa Honnali, Rajashekar Kadamba & K.S. Nagaraju and former President M. Chandrashekhar were present.
