SDPI seeks repair of street-lights on Azeez Sait Double Road

Mysuru: Expressing concern over dysfunctioning street-lights on Azeez Sait Double Road in Udayagiri, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) staged a demonstration in front of MCC Zonal Office-8 here recently, seeking immediate repair of street-lights.

Alleging that street-lights on Azeez Sait Road has been non-functioning for past one year, the protestors said that many accidents and crimes have taken place on the road due to darkness.

Maintaining that poor street-lights has been badly affecting the public, especially pedestrians, they also blamed the digging of roads and footpaths to carry out civic works, for obstructing  the pedestrian and vehicular movement.

Noting that the residents of the area have been facing lack of infrastructure and poor maintenance of civic facilities, they said that persistent representations to the authorities for providing proper underground drainage network and other civic amenities have fallen on deaf ears.

They also alleged that parks in the area are poorly maintained, which has resulted in serpents and other poisonous reptiles sneaking in, posing a risk to the safety of walkers. The protestors, led by SDPI District President Rafath Khan, urged the authorities to address all these problems and help the residents.
