Seal down villages reporting high number of Corona positive cases: Dr. Yathindra

Mysore/Mysuru: Varuna MLA Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah has asked Taluk Administration to seal down those villages which are reporting high number of Corona positive cases in Mysuru Taluk.

He was speaking after distributing medicine kits donated by Rakesh Papanna, a youth Congress leader, at Mini Vidhana Soudha here yesterday.

Dr. Yathindra said the number of Corona positive cases in rural areas has increased a lot when compared to last year’s first wave of COVID-19 pandemic. There is an emergent need to create awareness among the people of rural areas to take all health precautions.

Steps must be taken to check the surge by advising people to take Covid test in case of symptoms.

He said it was learnt that two villages in his Constituency have been sealed down in the wake of spike in positive cases.

A similar step must be taken if more number of cases were reported from other villages. But the taluk administration must ensure supply of medicines to infected persons and essential commodities to other villagers due to blocking of the entire village to the outside world. Staff from taluk administration and Health must be put on the job of distributing the necessary items to the affected persons, he added.

Tahsildar Rakshith said medicines and essential items are being delivered to houses of Corona positive patients in cloth bags. The taluk administration has taken several steps to bring down the cases in rural areas, he added.

H.D. Kote MLA Anil Chikkamadu and other Congress leaders were present.
