Secure passwords fortify data against unauthorised access

Mysore/Mysuru: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Seshadripuram Degree College and Internal Complaint Committee and NSS Unit, organised a programme on cyber security and ethical hacking recently.

R. Dhanoop, a Cybersecurity expert and associate member at National Cyber Safety Security Standards, and Cyber Security Analyst at Techbyheart was the resource person. He provided an insight on the vulnerability of our data to hackers, demonstrating various  websites to assess potential compromises in devices.

He elaborated on hacking techniques including cryptography, phishing and brute force, emphasising the diverse ways in which our data can be compromised. His guidance on crafting secure passwords aimed to fortify data against unauthorised access.

He highlighted Techbyheart’s initiative ‘Cyber Smart 2024’. This year-long programme endeavours to combat the escalating threat of internet scams in India by raising awareness and educating various segments of society.

The event was attended by Mruthula Sojan, IQAC Coordinator, Lt. R. Kumar, Assistant Professor of Commerce and Management, S. Lingaraju, System Administrator and Cyber Crime Investigation Trainer, CID Mysuru, staff and students.
