Mysore/Mysuru: BSS Vidyodaya (formerly Bhagini Seva Samaja), built at Krishnamurthypuram in city under the joint aegis of Y.K. Amrutha Bai S.K. Surama Bai Bhagini Seva Samaja Educational and Cultural Trust and Sri Vijaya Vittala Vidya Pratishtana, will be inaugurated tomorrow (May 23) at 5 pm.
Announcing this at a press meet at BSS Vidyodaya in city yesterday, BSS Vidyodaya Hon. Secretary R. Vasudev Bhat said that Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji of Palimar Mutt, Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt and Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt will grace the inaugural event.
Stating that the Educational Institution established by Y.K. Amrutha Bai in 1923 will be operational in the new building with required facilities that will be launched on May 23, he said that initially admission is open for Pre-LKG to 5th standard and so far 150 students are admitted. Admission is open till August and nearly 250 admissions are expected, he added.
Noting that the institution has adopted the facilities mentioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, he said that from next year, CBSE classes will also be started. Along with curricular, Yoga, Bhajans, Arts and Music classes will be conducted at the institution and separate activity rooms and meditation rooms are also constructed. This academic year will commence with 27 staff including 11 teachers and there are plans to start 8th standard, he added.
BSS Vidyodaya Treasurer H.T. Swarna Kumar, Trustee H. Muralidhar Bhat and Principal Pavan Kumar were present at the press meet.
