Selected for Media Academy Awards

Mysuru: Three journalists and a Journalism Professor from Mysuru have been selected for Karnataka Media Academy Award for the year 2024.

Hello Mysuru newspaper Editor T. Gururaj and Doordarshan Chandana Mysuru District Correspondent J. Jayanth have been selected for the Media Academy Annual Award while P. Shilpa of Deccan Herald newspaper has been selected for Prajasandesha Endowment Award.

Dr. N. Usharani, a retired Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Mysore (UoM), has been selected for the prestigious Annual Award given by Karnataka Media Academy, for 2023.  Prof. Usharani was the Founder-Director of Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC) and Dean, Faculty of Arts, UoM. She is also a ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research) Senior Fellow.

Senior Journalists A.C. Shivanna and Abbu Salam have been selected for the Lifetime Achievement Award for the years 2023 and 2024 respectively.

A total of 60 journalists have been selected for the annual awards while 18 journalists will be awarded with various endowment awards.

Newspapers Sanje Darshana and Hosapete Times have been selected for ‘Andolana’ Award for 2023 and 2024 respectively.
