Mysore/Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) has instituted the ‘Bharat Ratna Centenary Awards’ since 2016 marking the UoM’s Centenary celebrations.
The award will be conferred on three personalities in recognition of their contribution to the fields of science and technology and social sciences.
This year UoM has chosen acclaimed writer and Saraswathi Samman awardee Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa for the ‘Bharat Ratna Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Centenary Award’ for Social Sciences, former UoM Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. K.S. Rangappa for ‘Bharat Ratna Prof. C.N.R. Rao Centenary Award’ for Science and Director (President) of IIIT-Bangalore Prof. S. Sadagopan for ‘Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya Centenary Award’ for Innovation Technology.
