Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Public Instruction had organised District and State-level online competitions for students studying in High School and PU (Class 9 to Class 12) to explore their hidden talents in various fields.
This year, as many as 357 students from Mysuru district had taken part in the contest out of which 60 students were selected for State-level competitions. Out of 60, 10 students have bagged prizes in various contests making Mysuru District as Number One in the State-level contest.
Out of 10 students, 5 of them have bagged first prizes in the State-level contest and have been selected to the National-level Kalotsava competitions which will be held in January, 2023 at Bhubaneswar, Orissa.
Following have been selected for National-level Kalotsava: Folk songs – Tejas (10th std) of Maragowdanahalli Government High School, K.R. Nagar; Visual Arts (2D) – Pallavi (10th std.) Musuvinakoppal Government High School, T. Narasipur; Visual Arts (3D) – Shakuntala (10th std.) of G.B. Saragur Government High School, H.D. Kote; Local games – Sanshray (10th std.) of The Christ Public School, Mysuru Rural; Classical Music – J. Purvi (PUC) of Mahajana PU College, Mysuru.
Prize winners of State-level Kalotsava are: Folk songs – 2nd prize, H.L. Purushotham (10th std.) of Manuganahalli Govt. High School, Hunsur; Folk Dance – 2nd prize, K.H. Arkesh (9th std.) of Attigodu Govt. High School, Periyapatna; Visual Arts (2D) -2nd prize, M. Chandru (9th std.) of Kademagunagahalli Government High School, Hunsur, and K. Roopa (10th std.) of G.B. Saragur Government High School; Drama – 3rd prize. C. Chandana (10th std.) of Savithri Convent, Mysuru North.
