A self-defence and benefits of kickboxing seminar for school children was held at MRNV Educational Trust School in Hunsur by Karnataka Kickboxing Association Technical Director, Asian Kickboxing Referee K. Vijay Kumar and KKA General Secretary C. Ravi.
More than 50 boys and girls took part in the seminar which was held at the school premises on Feb.28. Girls were taught about the basic self-defence tactics. The idea was to impart self-defence skill among the rural girls who have to travel alone in remote areas of the village.
The 94-year-old M. R. Nagaraja Shresti, Hon. President of MRNV Educational Trust School and a prominent citizen of Hunsur, was felicitated on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, H. S. Ashok Kumar, General Secretary of the School said that there were around 1500 students at the school and that nearly 100 students have enrolled for the kickboxing classes. All the students will be trained in kickboxing and also participate in kickboxing competitions at all levels, he added.
