Mysuru; A one day seminar on various aspects of Co-operative Banking for Members of Board and Officers of Urban Co-operative Banks in the State was organised by Karnataka State Co-operative Urban Banks Federation Limited (KSCUBFL) at Nityotsava auditorium in Krishnamurthypuram here today.
About 100 representatives from various Urban Co-operative Banks in the State participated in the seminar who were briefed on latest developments in managing Co-operative Banks. A quiz was also organised later with attractive prizes.
Inaugurating the programme, B. Kodandaram, Seminar Director, Mysore Merchants Co-operative Bank Ltd. (MMCBL), observed that Co-operative Banks which were once on the verge of extinction have begun to perform better and become popular too.
Presiding over the programme, C.N. Parashivamurthy, retired Additional Registrar of Co-operative Societies, said that various Committees have been constituted to ensure smooth functioning of Co-operative Banks. He asked officers of these Banks to be well-versed with laws of Banking which should be strictly followed.
C.V. Somashekar, Senior Director, MMCBL and N. Suma, Manager, Mysore District Women Co-operative Bank Limited, were felicitated on the occasion.
M.N. Sumana, Federation Director, delivered the keynote address. Manager Pundalika Kerur, retired Registrar of Co-operative Societies B.A. Mahadevappa, Corporator SBM Manju and others were present during the Seminar.
