Mysuru: The Study and Research Chair of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) had organised a seminar on ‘Relevance of Akka Mahadevi vachanas in present day’ at KSOU premises here on Monday.
Inaugurating the seminar Akka Mahadevi Women’s University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sabeeha Bhoomigowda asserted that Akka Mahadevi was not against marriage but only raised a point on dominance by partners in marriage. She opined that vachanas should not be taught or explained superficially but a thought should be given regarding adopting the essence of vachanas in present day life. She asserted that Akka Mahadevi should be viewed in a broader sense giving no room for any distortion or misinterpretation.
KSOU VC Dr. S. Vidyashankar, Registrar (evaluation) Dr. A. Rangaswamy and others were present.
