Mysuru: Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Academy (BDSA), Karnataka State Wing had organised a seminar on ‘Ambedkar’s relevance today: A thought’ at the Mini-auditorium in Kalamandira premises here recently which also featured the induction of Dr. C. Venkatesh as the new BDSA State President.
Inaugurating the programme, littérateur Aravinda Malagatti regretted that Gandhiji is being gradually forgotten going by the present age developments. He opined that a critique should be discussed internally and should not trigger a war.
He said that any analysis should be reviewed in the current context with input from all quarters referring to the concept of Dalit Sahitya.
The outgoing State BDSA President Chaluvaraj handed over the charge to the new incumbent Dr. C. Venkatesh, who was felicitated.
A book on American Journalist Agnes Smedley was released by retd. Professor Mahesh Chandra Guru.
Former Rangayana Director Janardhan presided. BDSA National Secretary Subhash H. Kanade, State Vice-President K.S. Shivaramu, Joint Secretary Shantakumari, artist Dr. Babu Rao Nadoni, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna were present.
