Mysore/Mysuru: Senior Musician Vidushi R.N. Srilatha was conferred ‘Samarpana Sangeetha Sri’ Award at the ‘Sangeetotsava’ programme organised by Smt. Radhamma Memorial Trust at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road here recently.
Speaking after conferring the award, MUDA Chairman Yashaswi Somashekar said that Mysuru has been a home to Arts, Culture and Music for centuries. Noting that Mysuru, which is called as the Cultural Capital of the State, has many distinguished musicians and artistes, Somashekar said that it is good that senior musician Srilatha has been conferred with the award. Pointing out that Vidushi Srilatha has been teaching music to youths for many years, he lauded the Trust for promoting music and arts.
Speaking after being conferred with the award, Vidu. R.N. Srilatha said that students can build a better life by learning music and showing interest in humanities subjects. Highlighting the benefits of learning music, she said that discipline, determination and dedication holds key for excellence in music and other art forms.
Music students, who passed out Junior, Senior and Vidwat exams (2018, 2019 and 2021) with distinction — L. Archana (Vidwath), Amulya R. Bhat (Senior), Lhasya Nadutota (Junior), R. Nityashri (Vidwath), M.S. Koustubha (Senior), Niranjani Raghunandan Bhargava (Junior), H.V. Shama (Senior), Sujatha S. Nayak (Junior), T.P. Subashini (Vidwath), R. Tejaswini (Senior)and Likhita S. Gowda (Junior) — were felicitated on the occasion.
