Mysuru: Senior Hotelier P.S. Gopalakrishna Rao (87) passed away at a private hospital in city on Tuesday.
He was the owner of Nandini Group of Hotels in city.
A senior member of Mysuru Hotel Owners Association, Rao had also served as the Vice-President of Hotel Society and as a member of Sri Krishna Mitramandali. Considering his long service, the State Hotel Owners Association had conferred him with ‘Atithya Ratna’ award given to outstanding Hoteliers.
He leaves behind four sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends.
His mortal remains were kept at the residence of one of his sons, Praveen, in Nazarbad for public viewing this morning, following which the last rites were conduced at the foot of Chamundi Hill later in the afternoon.
Mysuru Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda and office-bearers have condoled the death of Rao.
