Daughter-in-law lodges complaint with Police
Mysuru: An incident of a 70-year-old woman dying under mysterious circumstances and her daughter-in-law lodging a Police complaint has been reported from Hebbal Police limits in city on Saturday.
The deceased woman has been identified as Chandramma, wife of Purushotham and residing at a building near Cauvery Circle in Hebbal. Chandramma’s daughter-in-law Geetha also stays in the same building but in a different portion along with her two children.
On Saturday, Geetha had been to her parents’ house near Surya Bakery in the same locality and the news about the death of her mother-in-law came in the evening only after her neighbours informed her over the phone.
She immediately rushed to the house and found Chandramma dead in the sleeping position. When she enquired her father-in-law Purushotham, who was lying sick, he has reportedly said that Chandramma slept after having her lunch and has not got up since then.
Geetha immediately lodged a complaint with Hebbal Police in this regard. Chandramma’s relatives, expressing doubts over the death, have alleged that Chandramma had sold her land to a person from Talkad for Rs.50 lakh and added that though Chandramma’s grandchildren were adults, the person who bought the land had not taken the signatures of the grandchildren but had got the katha done with the help of brokers.
The relatives further alleged that Chandramma’s bank pass book and property documents were missing and expressed doubts over Chandramma’s death.
Hebbal Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
