Rotary Club of Mysore Midtown emerged champion in the Service Organisations Cup 2018-19, annual Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament organised by Mysore Round Table (MRT) – 21 at the Railway Grounds here yesterday.
Batting first, MERT-256 team scored 55 runs for loss of five wickets in eight overs. Chasing the target, Rotary Mysore Midtown scored 58 runs for loss of two wickets in just 4.2 overs and bagged the Championship trophy.
In the first semi-finals held earlier between MERT-256 and MART-156, a score of 91 runs was given as the target by MART-156, which scored the runs for loss of six wickets. Chasing the target, MERT-256 scored 92 runs for loss of two wickets and entered the finals.
In the second semi finals, Rotary Mysore Midtown gave a target of 148 runs which they scored for loss of two wickets. But Rotary Central could manage to score only 66 runs for loss of two wickets. This resulted in Rotary Mysore Midtown clashing with MERT-256 in the finals.
While G. Madhu of Rotary Mysore Midtown bagged ‘Man of the Series’ award, Tr. Chirag bagged the ‘Best Batsman,’ Tr. Pavan Bargi bagged ‘Best Round Table Cricketer’ and Rakesh Babu of Rotary Mysore Midtown bagged ‘Bowler of the Series’ awards.
MRT-21 Chairman H.H. Ram distributed the prizes. Tournament Convenor Santosh Reddy and others were present during the event.
