Sir,
This refers to the news item titled ‘Ambaari bus ride a super hit’ (Star of Mysore dated Nov. 2). Along with a couple of friends, l too went on the Ambaari bus on the upper deck recently.
Excitement was palpable but once the bus started moving we, that is everybody in the bus, could not see anything in front at all because of the high board of the bus in front. It was like a wall in front and you could only see the illumination from the side unless you stood up. When standing we had a lovely view if we looked back.
I wonder how come no one has brought it to the notice of the KSTDC authorities. If they travel once they will immediately have an idea of what l am talking and they can take some remedial measures if possible.

Note: This issue was highlighted in the news item titled “Ambaari design flaw mars joy of riders: Built-in obstruction for viewing illumination” in Star of Mysore dated Oct. 3, 2022.
SOM reader Dr. A.S. Aravinda Murthy (Retd. Professor) had also drawn the attention of the authorities concerned in this column on Sept. 30, 2022 in his letter titled “Ambaari Bus Ride: Swalpa Adjust Madkolli Swamy.”
The front top part of the Ambaari is raised, God knows why, obstructing the view of the road in front. But unfortunately, the Karnataka State Tourism Dsssssevelopment Corporation (KSTDC), which operates the Ambaari bus service, has not taken any corrective measures. Hope, it is set right by next Dasara. —Ed
