‘Set up COVID-19 Hospital at Dasara Expo Ground’ Suggests ex-KEA Chief Raghu Kautilya

Mysore/Mysuru: Even as the health authorities, in a swift move, have converted the New District Hospital on KRS Road as District COVID-19 Hospital, BJP leader and former Chairman of Exhibition Authority Raghu Kautilya has suggested the District Administration to set up a temporary COVID-19 Hospital with quarantine facility at the sprawling Dasara Expo Ground.

In an appeal to the District Administration, Raghu said that Mysuru has the most number of Coronavirus cases in the State after Bengaluru. Also, many people are under quarantine in the district and as such, the District Administration must consider the idea of establishing a temporary COVID-19 Care Hospital at the 80-acre Dasara Exhibition Ground which is at a safe distance from residential areas.

Maintaining that the Exhibition Ground is an ideal place for the setting up of a temporary hospital, he said that the venue also provides a conducive atmosphere for treating the infected.

He opined that the authorities must discuss the pros and cons of the idea and come up with a plan in this regard.
