Mysore/Mysuru: Santa Sevalal Jayanti will be celebrated at a programme jointly organised by the District Administration and Kannada and Culture Department at Kalamandira on Hunsur Road in city at 11 am on Feb. 26 (Sunday).
Addressing a press meet at Patrakartara Bhavan here recently, Banjara Seva Sangha President M. Sundar said that Santa Sevalal was a great saint, socio-religious reformer and community leader who was born in 17th century.
Chitradurga’s Banjara Gurupeeta Mutt Seer Sardar Sevalal Swamiji will grace the occasion. District Minister S.T. Somashekar will inaugurate while MLA L. Nagendra will preside. Mayor Shivakumar, MPs V. Sreenivasa Prasad, Pratap Simha and Sumalatha Ambarish will be the chief guests. MLAs, MLCs, Boards and Corporations Chairmen will be present on the occasion.
Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Sociology Professor Dr. R. Santhosh Naik will deliver a lecture. Before the stage event, Gunashree and troupe will give a music programme at 10 am. Banjara Seva Sangha Secretary Chandra Naik, Executive Committee Member Hemanth Kumar, community leader Ravikumar, Anil and Lakhan were present at the press meet.
