Seven extortionists arrested by Lashkar Police

Rs. 23,500 cash, one auto, one mobile phone seized

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, Lashkar Police have arrested seven extortionists and have seized a total of Rs. 23,500 cash, one auto and one mobile phone from them.

In the first case, the Cops arrested four accused including two women, who had extorted Rs. 25,000 cash from a man on Nov. 30 early morning after assaulting him near a complex on B.N. Road.

Lashkar Police, who had registered a case, arrested four accused on the same day and recovered Rs. 22,000 cash besides seizing the auto used for the crime.

In the second case, Lashkar Police have arrested three persons on Dec. 15, who had extorted Rs. 6,700 cash and a mobile phone from a man near a Mall on B.N. Road at about 7.30 pm on Dec. 14 and have recovered Rs. 1,500 cash and the mobile phone worth Rs. 4,000 from them.

DCP M.S. Geetha Prasanna and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP M.N. Shashidhar supervised Lashkar Inspector P.P. Santosh, Sub-Inspector Dhanalakshmi and staff P. Chethan, Manjunath, Lalesaab Nadaf and Manjunath Gadagaigola in the nabbing and seizing operation.
