Sewage water in Raja Kaluve emanating foul smell at Anandanagar

Mysore/Mysuru: Sewage water is flowing inside Raja Kaluve, which is supposed to carry rain water and is emanating foul smell at Anandanagar forcing residents to inhale the stench. With diseases spreading, the residents have written to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) urging him to solve the issue.

The Raja Kaluve passes in the middle of Anandanagar and sewage water is flowing inside it since three years forcing the residents to breathe polluted air. Residents said that they have to close their nose while passing on the road and even close the windows and doors of their houses to avoid stench. Though the matter was brought to the notice of the officials concerned, nothing has been done in this regard till date.

Apprising the DC that one M.R. Puttappa, a resident of the locality had submitted a letter in this regard at his (DC) Office on Aug. 25, 2022 and had obtained an acknowledgement, no action was taken to solve the problem.

The residents has urged the DC that if it is not possible to repair Raja Kaluve, at least take steps to prevent sewage water flowing into Raja Kaluve and help the residents to breathe good air.
