Sewing machines donated to needy

Mysuru: Under its ‘Vocational Service’ programme, Rotary Ivory City Mysuru donated sewing machines to downtrodden women of Mysuru recently. The machines were sponsored by Prof. Ramakrishna Rao, Head of Desirazu Associates.

Delegates from Sultanate of Oman and Liverpool, United Kingdom, attended the function.

Prof. Rao, a renowned Architect, is currently the Dean of Mysore School of Architecture and has offices in India and Muscat.

Rtn. V. N. Prasad of Ivory City is associated with Prof. Rao in organising training programmes for engineers from Oman, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, under their ‘Capacity Building’ programmes.

Architects from Liverpool, UK, are at Mysuru for a research programme of ancient structures of Srirangapatna in association with Prof. Rao.

International Service being an important facet of Rotary, interaction with foreign delegates educated members of Ivory City on architectural and engineering practices in their countries.
