Bengaluru: The Special People’s Representatives Court yesterday granted conditional bail to JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna, who has been accused in a sexual assault case.
Judge Santosh Gajanana Bhat granted bail instructing him to submit a personal bond of Rs. 2 lakh along with two sureties.
The Court imposed several conditions on his bail which states that Suraj Revanna must not threaten witnesses or the complainant, must not tamper with evidence, must cooperate with the Police investigation and must appear before the Investigating Officer on every second Sunday of the month and mark his attendance between 9 am and 5 pm. Additionally, MLC Revanna was ordered to submit his passport to the Court.
The case against MLC Revanna was registered by the Holenarasipura Rural Police in Hassan, in June, under Sections 377, 342 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), based on the victim’s complaint.
