Mysuru: The city’s Additional District and Sessions Court FTSC-1 Special Court, has sentenced a man to 30 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 1 lakh for luring a minor girl on the pretext of giving her mango and then sexually assaulting her.
On July 15, 2023, the accused had lured a five-year-old girl to his house at a village in Bannur Police limits on the pretext of giving her mango and had sexually assaulted her. Bannur Inspector T.S. Lolakshi, who had registered a case, conducted an investigation and had submitted the charge-sheet to the Court.
POCSO Special Court Judge Anand P. Hogade, who took up the case, heard the arguments from both sides, found the accused guilty of committing the crime and sentenced him to 30 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 1 lakh.
The Judge has also ordered the fine amount of Rs. 1 lakh be given to the victim besides mentioning that the victim was eligible for Rs. 6 lakh compensation. Public Prosecutor K.B. Jayanti, argued on behalf of the Government.
