Mysore/Mysuru: The city’s 7th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a man to 10 years rigorous imprisonment after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a blind woman.
The man, who was convicted, is Chaluvaraju, a resident of Kommegowdanakoppal in Bilikere hobli of Hunsur taluk.
Chaluvaraju, who had barged into the house of the victim, sexually assaulted her besides threatening her with life if she discloses to anyone.
Based on the complaint from the victim’s sister-in-law, Bilikere Police had registered a case and the then Hunsur Circle Inspector K.C. Poovaiah, who conducted investigation, had submitted a charge-sheet to the Court.
City’s 7th Addl. District and Sessions Court Judge M. Ramesh, who took up the case, heard the arguments from both sides, found Chaluvaraju guilty of the crime and sentenced him to 10 years rigorous imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs. 20,000.
