Bengaluru: The State Cabinet on Thursday decided to appoint retired IAS Officer S.P. Shadakshari Swamy as Interim Chairman of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).
Shadakshari Swamy, who is the younger brother of Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, was appointed as one of the KPSC members in Oct. 2017 by the previous Siddharamaiah Government.
The KPSC Chairman post had fallen vacant following the retirement of T. Sham Bhat, a former IAS Officer.
Briefing presspersons on the Cabinet decisions, Co-operation Minister Bandeppa Kashempur said the Cabinet authorised Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to finalise the dates for Governor Vajubhai R. Vala to address the Joint Session of State Legislature.
