Bengaluru: Senior IAS Officer Shalini Rajneesh has taken over as the Chief Secretary of Karnataka, succeeding her husband, Rajneesh Goel. Goel officially handed over the charge at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru yesterday.
Rajneesh’s appointment follows Goel’s retirement and is expected to bring renewed leadership to the State’s administration. A 1989 batch officer, Shalini Rajneesh began her civil service career as an Assistant Commissioner in Mangaluru and is set to serve a nearly three-year term.
As Chief Secretary, Shalini will oversee State policy implementation, coordinate between Government Departments and ensure effective administration across Karnataka. She will also advise the State Government on key policy and administrative reforms. With a distinguished career in public administration, Shalini Rajneesh’s appointment is anticipated to enhance efficiency and continuity in Karnataka’s governance.
