Sharada Public School bags overall prize in Kannada debate contest

Mysuru:  City’s Sharada Public School bagged the overall prize in the district-level Kannada Debate contest conducted by Dinesh Coaching Centre.

Head of RIMSE (Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Moral and Spiritual Education) Swami Shivakanthanandaji gave away the prize to the school at the 22nd Pratibha Puraskar programme organised by Kuvempunagar’s Dinesh Coaching Centre at Kalamandira here yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, Swami Shivakanthanandaji said that not all noted personalities in the world were intelligent and several of them are the ones who have discontinued their studies.

Pointing out that in a fiercely competitive world today, there is a lot of pressure on students, he opined that the exertion of pressure by parents will have a bearing on their wards. Noting that parents too are under pressure today because of a highly competitive world, he said that the pressure exerted by the parents will have an adverse impact on children with low academic achievements.

Stating that thousands of students across the country are taking extreme steps because of academic failure, he stressed on the need for imparting moral education to children and this would help them in relieving their stress. Swami Shivakanthanandaji  also emphasised on the need for personality development of students, which would help them in facing current challenges.

Scholar G.S. Natesh, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that students must study with concentration and dedication in order to achieve academic success.

Pointing out that having a good education will help in overcoming challenges, he said that true education lies in doing something good for the society.

V. Aditya of Vijaya Vittala School bagged the first prize, C.M. Sheetal of Sharada Public School-second and R. Sadhana, also of Sharada Public school – bagged the third prize, while Prajwal  Prasad of Vijaya Vittala School and N.D. Keerthana of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan shared the consolation prize in Kannada debate contest. 

Marking the occasion, 98 students coached by the Centre, who secured more than 600 out of 625 marks in SSLC(2018-19) were presented Pratibha Puraskar on the occasion. Also, H.K.  Tejas , who was ranked third in the State scoring 623/625, was felicitated.
