‘Sherlock Holmes’ of Investigative Pathology and Microbiology

Sir,

It is very sad that we have lost a great human being and an expert pathologist who served millions of patients in and around Mysuru District with the punctuality of a rising Sun, for more than half a century.

He was the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ in the field of Investigative Pathology and Microbiology.

A few years back I wrote a letter in ‘Star of Mysore’ urging the then Medical Education Minister S.A. Ramdas to recommend Dr.Kannan for Rajyotsava Award in recognition of his unparalleled unique services in the field of curative medicines. To the dismay of medical fraternity he was not awarded that year.

When I met Dr. Kannan later for my blood sugar check up, I mentioned it. “Oh! Was it you? Someone from the Minister approached me asking for my biodata for the award and I refused it. Any how thank you for the feelings. My patients’ feedbacks are my award,” the great doctor said.

We miss you Dr.Kannan.
