Mysuru: Mysuru Dasara Aahara Mela Tindi Tinisugala Maaratagara Sangha (Dasara Food Festival Eatables Vendors Association) has found fault in the decision of the District Administration to shift the venue of Yuva Dasara to an open space near Uttanahalli in the outskirts of the city.
Sangha President Nagaraju S. Siddaramanahundi and Secretary Kamsale Ravi, jointly told media persons at Pathrakartara Bhavan this morning that, by shifting the venue of Yuva Dasara, it has been decided to organise Dasara Food Festival at Maharaja’s College Grounds. However, it would be a severe loss to the Food Festival, as in the previous years, the crowd attending Yuva Dasara was visiting the Food Festival.
Instead, the Dasara Food Festival should be organised next to Yuva Dasara venue. The decision taken to shift the venue is unilateral and benefits only the officials, but is against the general public, the duo alleged.
They also blamed the District Administration for not responding to their plea, made umpteen times.
“We have been regularly participating in the Food Festival, ever since Rs. 500 rent was charged per stall, which was later hiked to Rs. 25,000. During the previous Dasara, the vegetarian food stalls were charged Rs. 59,000 rent and non-vegetarian stall Rs. 88,500. However, the food stall owners incurred huge losses,” they alleged.
