Mysore/Mysuru: A Pourakarmika of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) was allegedly assaulted by a shop owner at Janatha Nagar in city yesterday.
Venkatesh, who is the OOD Supervisor at Ward No. 44 coming under the jurisdiction of MCC Zonal Office-3, was involved in the job of sharing the information related to trade licence, after discharging his scheduled duty. When he went to a home appliance shop owned by one Ramzan Sab, at about 11.55 am and asked him about the trade licence, the latter, outrightly assaulted him.
In his complaint, Venkatesh has told Saraswathipuram Police that, he suffered injuries in his nose, mouth and lips, following the assault. Besides pushing him down and kicking and abusing him, he (Sab) also issued a murder threat.
A case has been registered and investigation is on.
