Mysore/Mysuru: A shop selling paint, cement and steel was completely gutted in a fire caused by short circuit at Kuvempunagar in city on Saturday night.
Fire was noticed at Sri Gururaghavendra Cement and Steel shop in Kuvempunagar at about 8.30 pm which soon engulfed the entire shop destroying materials worth lakhs of rupees.
Over 15 Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who rushed to the spot along with four fire tenders, took more than two hours to bring the fire under control. The fire tenders had to refill the tanks twice to douse the fire. Luckily no injuries or loss of lives were reported.
As power was switched off due to short circuit, the fire personnel had to use torches to know about the items that had caught fire as relevant fire extinguishers had to be used.
