‘Shraavana’ edition of Champaka Rashtreeya Kalaa Utsava tomorrow

Champaka Rashtreeya Kalaa Utsava is the monthly cultural series to promote Indian art and culture by Champaka Educational and Cultural Trust, Mysuru.  The ‘Shraavana’ edition will be held tomorrow at 4.30 pm at Champaka Academy premises in Ramakrishnanagar, with Bharatanatyam and Kathak performances from accomplished artistes from Mysuru and Bengaluru. The evening will start with a Bharatanatyam by Vidu. Dr. Nagalakshmi Nagarajan, Founder of Champaka Academy. Her presentation shall be based on the work of Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar on female Haridasis who contributed a lot towards the dasa sahitya, but were less known. 

Next will be a Kathak performance by Vidu. Bharathi Vittal and disciples, Founder and Director of Kalpanaa School of Dance, Bengaluru. The final presentation will be by Vidu. Bhavana D. Rao, Founder and Director of Shivanoopura Narthana Kala Kendra, Mysuru. She will be presenting a Bharatanatyam performance along with her disciples.

M.R. Satyanarayana, Resident Editor, Vijayavani, Mysuru, will be the chief guest, according to Dr. Nagalakshmi, Managing Trustee, Champaka Educational and Cultural Trust.
