“Shram Dhaan” along Chamundi Hill steps by Ex-Servicemen on Jan. 3

Mysore/Mysuru: To begin this New Year 2021 in a meaningful and positive manner, the members of Mysuru Ex-servicemen Movement (MEM) jointly with VeKare Ex-servicemen Trust and Sainik  Academy, Mysuru, has organised a “Shram Dhaan” on Jan.3.

 As part of “Shram Dhaan,” the members will climb the 1,000 steps leading from Chamundi foothill to Chamundeshwari Temple atop the Hill cleaning the surroundings of the hillsteps by picking up all used and thrown plastic bags, empty bottles, plastic cups and discarded footwear etc., from 7 am. 

The members will assemble at 6.45 am at the foothill. Interested military veterans and general public too may participate in the “Shram Dhaan” symbolically and encourage the members of MEM in their concern for a clean and good environment. Wearing of mask and maintaining social distancing  is a must for all the participants. 

MEM is an association of military veterans and one of its main objectives is to serve society by  taking up community service apart from projecting the problems and just causes of Ex-servicemen.
