Mysuru: “Despite decades after independence, we are lagging behind in higher education,” observed former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah with regret.
He was speaking after inaugurating the newly constructed ‘Shathothara Suvarna Soudha’ at the premises of Sarada Vilas Institutions in Krishnamurthypuram here on Monday.
Stating that most of the parents wish their children to become doctors and engineers, Siddharamaiah advised them also to focus on scientists and other top positions. He commended Sarada Vilas Institutions in admitting average students and grooming them as achievers.
Remembering the days as an alumnus of Sarada Vilas Law College, Siddharamaiah paid rich tributes to his teachers then and the College. He opined that a good Alumni Association of Sarada Vilas should be formed for good interaction. He assured to apprise the Government to provide land for the institutions to commence a PG Centre.
MP R. Dhruvanarayan, MLA Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah, Sarada Vilas Institution President B.S. Parthasarathy, Hon. Secretary H.K. Srinath and others were present.
