Mandya: Former Chief Minister and State JD(S) President H.D. Kumaraswamy (HDK) accompanied by his wife Anitha, visited Kalabhyraveshwara Swamy temple in Adichunchanagiri in Nagamangala taluk of Mandya district yesterday as part of Amavasya and offered prayers.
Speaking to reporters later, Kumaraswamy said that Siddharamaiah grew to the level of Chief Minister only because of JD(S) which made him an MLA, a Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. He hence asserted that Siddharamaiah has no moral right to comment on JD(S) as a father-son party.
Continuing, Kumaraswamy pointed out that Siddharamaiah was grooming his son Dr. Yathindra for politics. He contended that JD(S) has always been in the forefront in fighting for the welfare of farmers.
When reporters asked about Bhavani Revanna and Prajwal Revanna contesting the Assembly elections in 2018, Kumaraswamy categorically said that the decision will be taken only by JD(S) Supremo H.D. Devegowda.
Vishwanath meets HDK
Surprisingly, former MP A.H. Vishwanath, who quit the Congress party three days ago, arrived in Adichunchanagiri and visited the temple to offer puja along with Kumaraswamy, raising speculations of the former joining JD(S). However, Vishwanath told reporters that it was a courtesy and casual meeting with Kumaraswamy. He added that he would seek the opinion of the activists of his constituency before jointing any party. However, Kumaraswamy told reporters that it was better for Vishwanath to join JD(S) who has quit Congress having been disgusted with the unilateral and dictatorial behaviour of Siddharamaiah.
