Prove charges or quit politics – Siddu tells Yeddy
Bagalkote, Feb.11- Dropping what is described as a political bombshell, former Chief Minister and State BJP unit President B.S. Yeddyurappa yesterday accused Chief Minister Siddharamaiah of paying Rs.1,000 crore to the Congress High Command to retain his post and meet the needs for resources of the High Command.
Addressing a press conference here, Yeddyurappa claimed that the information was obtained from a diary seized by the sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate during a raid on the residence of Siddharamaiah’s close aide and MLC Govindaraju.
This apart, Siddharamaiah has also betrayed the people of Karnataka at a time when they are enduring the worst drought in recent times as funds were meant for welfare of programmes for the poor, he added.
Stating that Siddharamaiah’s shady deals would be exposed within the next few weeks when details of shocking facts in the diary are made public, Yeddyurappa alleged that tax paid by the people is being looted by Siddharamaiah to cling on to CM’s post.
Alleging thatRs.43 crore meant for minor irrigation works in Kushtagi was diverted without executing any work, Yeddyurappa claimed that he had the required proof which will be disclosed at the right time.
CM rubbishes allegations
Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, rubbishing the allegation made by Yeddyurappa, asked him (Yeddyurappa) to retire from politics if he failed to prove the charges and said that the allegation shows Yeddyurappa’s irresponsibility.
