Mysuru: MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar said that Sikhs have contributed very much for the growth of the country.
He was speaking at the ‘Guru Granth Sahib Prakash Utsav’ organised by the Sikh Community at Gurudwara Sri Gurusingh Sabha off KRS Road in Brindavan Extension here yesterday.
Observing that this programme is a perfect example of the country’s ‘Unity in Diversity,’ Yaduveer said that the Sikh community has made a significant contribution and sacrifice for the growth of the country. Noting that the Sikh community settled in Mysuru has upheld the values of the community here, he lauded the organisation of the programme.
Maintaining that brotherhood is given more importance in the country, the MP stressed on the need for mutual cooperation for building a ‘Viksit’ Bharat and thus make the country a prosperous one.
He called upon the community members to maintain a sense of brotherhood among all citizens and thus uphold the highly valued culture of our country.
Darshan Singh and team of Mysuru and a team from Bengaluru rendered devotional songs, with the gathering too joining the chorus.
MP Yaduveer was honoured on the occasion.
Community leaders Sukhvinder Singh, Harpreet Singh, Jasbir Singh, Manpreet Kaur and others were present.
