Mysore/Mysuru: Due to COVID-19 pandemic, Vishwakarma Jayanti will be celebrated in a simple and symbolic manner in the city on Sept.17.
Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, District Vishwakarma Jayantotsava Samiti President Hanchya Puttasomachar said that the Jayanti will be celebrated by the District Administration in association with the Samiti at Kirurangamandira in Kalamandira premises on Hunsur road at 11 am on Sept. 17. Pointing out that the celebrations will be marked with the offering of floral tributes to a portrait of Vishwakarma Saint, he said that Chamaraja MLA L. Nagendra will preside over the programme.
MP Pratap Simha, MLAs G.T. Devegowda, S.A. Ramdas and Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah and a host of other political leaders will take part, he said and added that the celebrations will take place by following Government SOPs and adherence to COVID appropriate behaviour.
Samiti members Anandur Puttasomachar, Sindhuvalli Lokesh, Nagamma, Pushpalatha and Suresh were present at the press meet.
