Sister duo wins National Dance Honours

Mysore/Mysuru: Two young sisters from Mysuru, Minati Anjan and Kashvi Anjan, students of Nypunya School of Excellence, Datagalli, have brought laurels to the city by receiving world record recognition in the field of Bharatanatyam.

Daughters of S. Neethashree and Anjan Ashok, Minati and Kashvi are the disciples of Vid. Madhuri Gogi (Nritya Kala Niketan). They have been learning the Kalakshetra style of Bharatanatyam for the past two years.

Jackhi Book of World Records 2025 – title ‘Natiya Kala Jyoti’: The sisters were among 630 classical dancers from across India who performed Bharatanatyam on diverse cultural themes at Sirkali Sangamam-2025. This performance set a world record for the largest group Bharatanatyam performance. This has fetched them the title ‘Natiya Kala Jyoti.’

AJMA (Art Journey Mentoring Association) – Title ‘Nritya Thalir’:  Minati and Kashvi were conferred with the title ‘Nritya Thalir’ at Nattiya Senai 2.0, held at the sacred premises of Arulmigu Kabartheeswara Swamy Temple, Kumbakonam, in August 2025. The event was graced by Padma Shri R. Muthukanammal, who acknowledged the dedication of young dancers in preserving Bharatanatyam as a divine art form.
