Mysuru: If everything goes well, Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) may start distributing sites in Rabindranath Tagore Nagar (R.T. Nagar) and Lalithadripura soon with MUDA and farmers, whose land have been acquired to form these layouts, coming to an agreement on compensation aspects.
Explaining the features of the agreement with farmers to Star of Mysore this morning, MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar recalled that a farmer had moved the court against MUDA regarding compensation and the matter has been in the court for about 7 years resulting in endless wait for site aspirants.
He further said that a conciliation meeting was held recently with farmers where they were promised to allot sites in the developed layout on a 50:50 sharing pattern which was agreed upon by the farmers.
Continuing, Dhruvakumar said that the proposal had been approved by the Board of Management and the Government which has been sent to the court for giving a nod to MUDA to distribute the sites.
He added that once everything is through, about 3,500 sites will be distributed in these two layouts on seniority basis.
He also said that MUDA intended to construct about 2,500 houses in groups on MUDA land for the benefit of people.
